Together with technicians, our designers turn ideas into products for everyday use. They develop, model and design components and assemblies for devices and systems. They create the technical drawings on the computer and formulate technical documents.
One to two days a week - depending on the apprenticeship year - vocational school classes are held at the BWZ Rapperswil-Jona (centre for vocational training and continued education) to reinforce the practical skills learned.
Good performance in geometry, mathematics and physics as well as a good technical comprehension and perception.
The following professional development options will be open to you after successfully completing an apprenticeship:
- Professional exam (BP):
With a Swiss certificate: e.g. Automation Specialist, Process Specialist, Technical Business Administrator
- Advanced professional certificate (HFP):
E.g. Industrial Foreman
- Higher vocational school:
E.g. Swiss-certified Technician (HF) Mechanical Engineering (with specialisation in design engineering), Swiss-certified Technician (HF) Electrical Engineering
- University of Applied Sciences:
With a corresponding education, e.g. Bachelor of Science (FH) in mechanical engineering, in electrical engineering or in mechatronics.
